Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation is one of the leading real estate developers in the region. The company is a part of the ICCP Group, a collection of companies that are mainly involved in several types of business fields, including property development and services, direct investments and investment banking. This group of companies is a product of a joint venture between the Beacon Property Ventures Inc, or the BPVI, and the Regatta Properties Inc or RPI.
The Beacon Property Ventures Inc specializes in equity investments mostly in selected property development projects. The BPVI’s major shareholders include the Bank of the Philippine Islands, Circuits Inc and Bacnotan Consolidated among many others. The Regatta Properties Inc, on the other hand, is a subsidiary of the SPPI or the Science Pak of the Philippines Inc. SPPI is a well known developer of several industrial estates, including the Light Industry and Science Park of the Philippines and the LISP II, LISP III, the Cebu Light Industrial Park, as well as the Cebu and Hermosa Ecozone.
As for the Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation, it is best known for providing the city of Cagayan de Oro a nice and comfortable community for its locals through the 360-hectare Pueblo de Oro Township project.
The intricately planned project was started way back in 1995. Located in one of the city’s highest points, the township highly complements Cagayan de Oro City’s position as Northern Mindanao region’s center of finance, industry, and commerce.
Roughly 13 years later, the Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation has managed to come up with another residential village that would better suit the mid-income bracket of the city’s developing market; Hillsborough Pointe.
Hillsborough Pointe is particularly designed to give residents that much coveted comfortable countryside feel. This all new township is situated right behind the Xavier University high school, also near the Lumbia airport, as well as a few of the city’s progressive ICT parks.
In order to maximize the entire land area’s living capacity, Hillsborough Pointe features several medium sized houses with land areas that range from 180 sq miles to 150 sq miles. The subdivision also features quite a few ridge lots that provide residents with a nice view of the Macajalar Bay and the Calaanan Valley. The sparkling coastline of the Macajalar Bay, which is partly obscured by the towering Calaanan Valley, offers a breathtaking view of both the sunset and the sunrise, thus completing the subdivision’s countryside feel. Other regions of the village also provide residents with a clear view of thee golf courses, perfect for the non-morning persons and the extroverts.
Although the subdivision’s design is intricately planned to emulate an English countryside feel, it also possesses several modern amenities that meets the resident’s urban life needs. Inside the subdivision, you can find a swimming pool that is perfect for the city’s tropical weather and a clubhouse where people and visitors can get refreshments and enjoy a sumptuous meal during hectic days, and even during lazy weekends. The subdivision also has certain facilities that enable residents to engage in healthy and fun physical activities, such as a basketball court, a tennis court, as well as a children’s playground. In terms of security and everyday life convenience, the subdivision is designed to have certain provisions for both water and power and is equipped with 24/7 security. The subdivision has a complete set of surveillance cameras along with a K9 patrol and its own fire station and fire tuck.
The Hillsborough Pointe project is one of Cagayan de Oro’s leading residential and mixed-use property developments. Its location was strategically planned by its developers in order to place it at the center of Cagayan de Oro City’s major site for industrial and business growth and development. The subdivision is located about 6 kilometers away from the Lumbia airport and about 5 kilometers away from the city proper.
The concept for the subdivision was brought together by one of the leading companies in the field, Louis Berger International Inc, or LBII. This company is known worldwide for its expertise in urban and regional planning. In addition to the Hillsborough Pointe Subdivision, LBII is also known for preparing the master plans for various other urban landscapes in the Philippines. The company is behind the master plans for the Cagayan de Oro-Iligan Corridor, as well as for the SOCSCARGEN growth area.

Cagayan de Oro is the home of a host of companies and educational institutions. Here, it’s not surprising to find transient laborers, itinerant workers and students originally from different provinces. For this reason, entrepreneurs have built an entire industry around rental accommodation. Rooms for rent, boarding houses, dormitories and bedspaces can be found in just about every corner of the city.
Boarding houses and room rentals are inexpensive choices compared to hotels, pension houses and apartments. They’re also a smart option if you want to live alone or have to send funds to the folks back home.
If you’re looking for a rental property in Cagayan de Oro, there are things that may hamper your search, one of which is the city itself. Of course, it’s hard to search in an unfamiliar territory. Where would you go if you didn’t have a destination?
There are many things to consider when hunting for a place to stay. Keep this guide in mind and you won’t have to exhaustingly scour Cagayan de Oro like how Frodo traveled barefoot all the way from the Shire to Mordor.
First off, set a budget. With a predefined financial plan, you’ll find a place that won’t put a hole in your pocket. When setting the budget, think about other expenses aside from rent costs. While many boarding houses don’t require you to pay for electricity and water bills, some do. If the rent and the bills exceed your budget, move on to another boarding house. Remember, CDO has lots of them.
Next, decide on a location. If you don’t want to be traveling from your living area all the way to Timbuktu, choose a neighborhood located near your daily destination. Schools are often surrounded by pads and rental places because many people take advantage of the frequency of non-Kagay-anon students attending CDO schools. If your office is situated in the city center, then you’re in luck because the city proper is teeming with properties for rent.
Another consideration is your comfort. I’ve seen many of these rooms for rent, and let me tell you; almost half of them have seen better days or are in desperate need of an extreme makeover. If you’re squeamish and like everything clean and tidy, narrow down your search by checking out all the rentals within one neighborhood. Choose the cleanest ones.
If you don’t have proper ventilation, an A/C system or an electric fan at least, these lodging places can feel like an oven. If you’re going to bring your own utilities like an electric fan, ask if you’re required to pay for additional electricity charges.
When looking for a place to stay, you can find one without breaking a sweat by doing Internet search. These days, owners advertise their properties online to attract more people. However, you might miss out on good rooms that don’t do Web advertising. So if you don’t mind going door-to-door on foot, by all means, go around the community. Keep an eye on posters and banners that have the words “Room for Rent” or “Wanted Bedspacer.” In addition, don’t hesitate to ask people around the vicinity. Most Kagaya-anons are hospitable and would be willing to point you to the nearest lodging place. If this task is tiring, continue your search the next day.
Lastly, one important factor most forget is the landlady/lord. At one point within their stay, some boarders complain about a demanding, rude or incompetent owner. To prevent this from happening to you, consider the owner’s approach and hospitality from the beginning, when you’re still inquiring about the property.
Remember these tips to find the best board and lodging place in Cagayan de Oro.

CENTURY CITY
Fully fitted, fully furnished and fully serviced
When Century Properties first launched the “Fully-Fitted, Fully-Furnished and Fully-Serviced” concept to its residential developments — a feat that no other Philippine real estate firm has attempted before — it found a market eagerly waiting for such a bold and but practical innovation.

“The Philippine market is not only ready but also eagerly demands this,” explains John Victor Antonio, COO of the dynamic and visionary real estate firm. “Time-conscious buyers look for a condo that will be ready for occupancy upon turnover minus the hassle of talking to additional suppliers, contractors and interior decorators.”
Armed with an extensive research on the country’s real estate market, Century Properties sold out its five residential projects in just less than a year after their respective launches. These are South of Market at the Fort, the country’s first Fully-Fitted, Fully-Furnished residential high-rise; Grand Soho Makati in the heart of the Makati Golden Triangle, the only Fully-Fitted, Fully-Furnished condo that offers residents three exceptional design options; Soho Central, the country’s first ever transportation-oriented residential development; and Canyon Ranch, the country’s first Wi-Fi integrated community; and the Casitas at Canyon Ranch, the first Fully-Fitted, Fully-Furnished and Fully-Serviced homes in Asia.
Inspired by such successful developments, Century Properties has announced that it will integrate the highly-acclaimed Fully-Fitted, Fully-Furnished and Fully-Serviced concept into The Gramercy Residences-the first and only hyper-amenitized luxury high-rise in the Philippines, located within the progressive development called Century City in the heart of what is now being called “MoMa,” or “Modern Makati.”
The Gramercy’s place of inspiration, New York, and the prestigious and private neighborhood from where it derives its name-the Gramercy Park in Manhattan, has prompted Century Properties’ creative team to infuse it with never-before attempted features, world-class standards and a global lifestyle.
First off, it will introduce the 24 by 365 dynamic-the same lifestyle that the entire Century City shall espouse-where all services from food to technical assistance will be accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. And taking after its predecessor, the fastest-selling residential condominium Grand Soho Makati that offered three exceptional interior design options, The Gramercy will feature six kinds of new interiors in flat and loft configurations.
1BR, 2BR and 3BR flats and lofts available. Ownership starts from $55,000.
