Duka Bay Resort

Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) is not as big or as populated as Manila or Cebu. But it’s just as interesting. Aside from the friendly accommodating Kagay-anons, there is also a long list of things to do and see in CDO.

Another reason why a number of visitors; whether tourists, balikbayans, or business travelers, keep coming back to Cagayan de Oro are the beaches and resorts. Although most of these comfortable, sunny, and stress-free Philippine resorts are not situated right in the heart of the city, they’re all accessible and located in the neighboring towns and municipalities of Cagayan de Oro.

One of the most popular resorts in the city is the Coconut Bay Resort located in Baloy, along the National Highway. If you want a quiet time with your family, friends, or business associates, then this Philippine resort is the best choice for you. The area is surrounded by tall coconut trees and each cottage is equipped with first class amenities like cable television, hot and cold shower and/or bathtub, comfortable beds, a seating area, and for some cottages, a dressing area. Cottages are strategically located near the clear blue swimming pool that overlooks the fantastic view of the sea.

Another resort with a slightly similar atmosphere is Cha-li Beach Resort in Cugman, still along the National Highway. Cha-li’s swimming pool is slightly bigger than Coconut Bay’s but the amenities for their cottages are basically the same. However, beach lovers will prefer to stay in this Philippine resort because aside from the pool, they also have the option to enjoy the cool blue waters of the beach. There are also well-equipped hotel rooms for those who prefer one.

Just a few minutes away from Cagayan de Oro is the town of Medina in Misamis Oriental. Medina is also where Duka Bay Resort is situated. Duka Bay offers world class amenities like the glass bottom boat ride. Diving aficionados flock to this Philippine resort to take advantage of their world class scuba diving and snorkeling services.

Another resort that’s worth checking out is the Apple Tree Resort in Opol. Strategically located along the seaside, Apple Tree boasts of first class hotel and resort accommodations for individuals, families, and other big groups. This Philippine resort has both a swimming pool and a beach. They also have spa/massage services, a restaurant, and amenities like Internet access, laundry and dry cleaning service, and hot tubs in rooms.

If you want something more unique and interesting, though, the best choice would be the Gardens of Malasag Eco-Tourism Village. It’s a park, a botanical garden, a picnic area and a resort rolled into one. This Philippine resort is located on 7.2 hectares of the Malasag Reforestation Area within the Cugman Watershed. It’s green and wide and has unique features and amenities like ethnic arts, culture, and flora and fauna showcases. You’ll enjoy their frolicking in their picnic grounds and swimming in their pool. It has a panoramic view of the whole city and their cottages (native-inspired) are fully equipped with first class amenities.

The next time you visit Cagayan de Oro, check out any of these resorts and you’re guaranteed to have the time of your life!
