Mayor Emano steps up city tourism promotion

In consonance with his priority programs for the remaining months of his administration, City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano is making an aggressive move that is seen to boost the flourishing image of Cagayan de Oro as a choice tourism destination in this part of the country.

Among the latest actions taken by Mayor Emano to ensure a sustainable tourism promotions campaign for the city is the appointment of Paulita Agnes Roa as resort manager of the city government-owned Kagay-an Resort in Taguanao.

Roa, a commissioner of the City Historical and Cultural Commission (HISCCOM) is tasked to lead existing city government personnel who will compose the operating personnel at the newly-redeveloped Kagay-an Resort.

The Kagay-an Resort opens at 7:00 o’clock in the morning to 6:00 o’clock in the evening and imposes an entrance fee of P5.00 for guests 8 years old and above and P2.00 for children seven years old and below.

The city government-owned resort also boasts of newly-built function rooms, cottages and picnic huts.

Mayor Emano also fielded maintenance personnel and tour guides at the Mambuaya, Macahambus and Balutuhan caves and also assigned permanent personnel to man the newly-inaugurated City Tourism Show House in Divisoria.

The city mayor revealed that the appointment of personnel to man the various tourism destinations in the city is expected to improve the city government’s effectiveness in providing tourism-related services to local and international tourists in Cagayan de Oro. (City Information Office)
