Two new subdivisions to rise in OroThis after the City Council approved during its regular session recently, the application for Development Permit of the two subdivision developers namely, Fil-Estate Properties, Inc. and A. Brown Company, Inc. The city council approved the application of Fil-Estate Properties for the development of Bahia Vista Phase I, located at Barangay Gusa, this city covering an area of 34,311 square meters. It also approved the application of A. Brown Company, Inc. for the development of Xavierville Homes, located at Barangay Balulang, this city, covering an area of 24,198 square meters. Engr. Isidro Borja, project evaluation officer of the City Planning and Development Office (CPDO) said that with the approval of their development permits, the two subdivision developers can now start their respective housing projects. Early this month, the city council approved the development permit of Bahia Vista Phase II of Fil-Estate Properties and Tuscania Subdivision of Land Resources Corporation. Borja noted that as of 2003 the city has continually experienced a dramatic growth in the housing sector with subdivision developers offering one core to ready-to-occupy housing units. Since then, the city has approved 40 complex subdivisions with two high-end residential estates. In 2006, the CPDO has approved seven subdivisions namely: Westfield Homes, Liberty Land, Portico, Silver Creek, Meadow Heights, Le Miranda and Richmond Hills. This year, the city government approved the permit of Ayala Land, Teak Woods of A. Brown, Bloomingdale of Liberty Land and Vista Verde of Pueblo De Oro, With these developments, the city has secured its position as the fastest growing city in the country today, conforming to the thrust of City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano to make the city the fastest growing economy in the country. (City Information Office) Ayala's Alegria Hills is now open for buyersTetta Baad, the company's executive vice-president for marketing in Visayas and Mindanao said that after looking at the mountains of Indahag, Ayala Land found a place that suits the qualities of what they envision of a community. She added that Alegria Hills provides a wonderful opportunity for those who wanted to have a beautiful place to live. In their property, Baad said that they will develop several villages that include sports facility, pocket park, watershed treatment facility, chapel, ravine orchards, promontory point, canyon trails and a central park. Manny Boniao, the original owner of the land bought by the Ayala's said during the inauguration of Alegria Hills sales office recently, that Ayala's presence in Cagayan de Oro is a milestone in the city and in Northern Mindanao as it serves as a catalyst of development. He also lauded City Mayor Vicente Y. Emano for his extraordinary leadership that paved way for Ayala's entry in the island of Mindanao. The groundbreaking of the high-end subdivision is set on June 8, 2007. Earlier, Mayor Emano said that the firm will pour an initial investment of P4 billion to develop the 80 hectares of the 350 hectares for now and will continue to develop the remaining areas in the succeeding years. The mayor said that with the Ayala Land's presence, the city will continue to enjoy economic stability and more job opportunities will be made available for the city's unemployed residents.
