CDO Red Alert on Health Concerns

Health is the most important aspect that the government should give more attention . After the typhoon sendong many survive from it but the suffering doesn’t stop there. Leptospirosis is been an epidemic and made the cagay – anons stunned and traumatized. Good thing that the government made an action about how to be cautious about the said epidemic.

Health concerns in CDO is fast epidemic of leptospirosis made the kagay – anons afraid and traumatized. They’ve survive the typhoon but still there’s a big epidemic and the is the leptospirosis. The government and some private sectors are helping to prevent the cagay anons from leptospirosis.

The concerns of the government is to help the people not to acquire the disease or the leptospirosis. Prevention is better than cure, so they give vaccines for those flood victims who have open wounds during the typhoon struggle, and they  treated them with antibiotics, such as doxycycline or penicillin, which should be given early in the course of the disease. Intravenous antibiotics may be required for persons with more severe symptoms. We should be more aware and more concern about our health because we only have one life to live.

Health conditions of CDO people is now stable and healthy. So people would here come will not be afraid to visit CDO. You can now enjoy the beautiful fun city of CDO. The warm healthy people of CDO is now back on track to work and to enjoy life again.  CDO is one of the fast growing city in Northern Mindanao, with its fast growing economy and business opportunities arises. Many investors would come here and had their business here.

            Health concerns is now the priority in Cagayan de Oro City. Some of the business investor are coming back in to invest .

Typhoon Sendong is the most deadliest  typhoon came to CDO. With Massive destruction of properties and it took many lives of the cagay – anons. Many people suffered from the typhoon sendong and a lot of people grieved from their missing and dead love ones. A calamity that no one can erase into our minds.

Many survive from the typhoon but it has the most dangerous epidemic and that is the Leptospirosis.  Leptospirosis is transmitted by the urine of an infected animal and is contagious as long as it is still moist. Although rats, mice, and moles are important primary hosts, a wide range of other mammals including dogs, deer, rabbits, hogs, cows, and certain marine mammals are able to carry and transmit the disease as secondary hosts.

Symptoms of leptospirosis include high fever, severe headache, chills, muscle aches, and vomiting, and may include jaundice (yellow skin and eyes), red eyes, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or a rash. If the disease is not treated, the patient could develop kidney damage, meningitis (inflammation of the membrane around the brain and spinal cord), liver failure, and respiratory distress. In rare cases death occurs.

            Today, CDO is back to the normal, friendly atmosphere. but still sendong leaves a mark of big damage in some of the affected places. CDO is back on his feet for a fast developing city here in Mindanao.  Even though we’ve experience the tragedy but the people of CDO remains warm and friendly.  All the business establishments and all the tourist spots are trying to revive the beautiful scenery of CDO. We are so thankful of all the people and other sectors who made an effort to help CDO be back on their feet again. Now CDO is a progressive and again the city of the golden friendship.
